Ooops

So as of October 7th, I am officially A+ certified. For the next 3 years anyway. After that, I have to re-certify which is mostly about having continuing education and or work experience.

I've moved onto Networking basics which I've actually been enjoying but oh my heavens there is a lot to remember. Next up will be Network+ and then I end the term with Database basics.

I should be ready for my padded cell in a few months.

Until next week!

Not A Lot To Tell

Mostly I'm just plugging away, trying to be ready to take the 802 exam. I admit I'm terrified.

Reading the textbook and then answering the questions helped a lot. I feel better than I did but man there is a lot of info to try and remember about that test.

My biggest problem is probably my feeling that the test is out of date. I've had to answer questions about Windows 98, 2000, ME and even a question about Windows 95. Windows 10 was just released and there is nothing about Windows 8 on the test. Not sure how I feel about it.

Hopefully I can get some study time in tomorrow and will be able to request a voucher so I can do a second attempt on the test. We'll see.

The Past Year in a Nutshell

I really need to update more often.

Okay so I finally got into the IT College. Finally. I enrolled in the two classes to get my A+ cert, a class for HTML that includes a school test, an HTML class that had a project and finally an English class I needed to get out of the way.

I got the English class done, I got the HTML classes done. I did not get the A+ classes done. I was so frustrated.

So for term 6, I re-enrolled in the A+ classes and another HTML class. I got the first half of the A+ done. Last term was not a good term.

So I'm 5 weeks in and I have the second half of A+, plus an intro to Networks, the class for Network+ and a basic Computer Science 101 class that introduces us to Python.

Oh, they finally, after nearly a year, updated my program, so the second HTML class I was trying to take, it's gone. Fortunately, I have all the stuff so I can do that one on my own.

I am worried about passing the second half of the A+. I took the test once already and missed it by probably 2 questions. I was so close. For some reason that has freaked me out enough that I'm having trouble focusing and remembering anything I hadn't already learned. I have to find a way to get through this. And soon.

I'm excited about the other three classes though and really feel if I can just pass the exam, I'll be back on track. Here's hoping next week, I'll have the exam scheduled.
