I have a new student mentor. She is pretty awesome. She sent me the course of study for the first class I'm going to take when I start back on the first. 

Definitely appreciate the jumpstart it gives me.

I do kinda wish the course of study had me working through Python at Code Academy in order. Or well, I'm sure it will be fine when I'm done.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying it a lot.

Another Program Change and Web Course

I got bored on my term break. Like a week into my term break. So my husband bought me a web course. It's supposed to walk you through web design from HTML to SQL to PHP. I'm nearly halfway through. I've also been working on Python through Code Academy. So I am making good use of my time.

And my mentor left the school on my daughter's birthday. It was a bit of a shock. So when I start again on May 1st, I'll have a new mentor. A little scary but doable. I did speak with the program director for my school. She was wonderful. Very helpful and we decided to go ahead and switch my program to Software Development from Software Emphasis. Basically more classes I like and want to take.

The best part of the switch, I don't have to take Network + or Security +. So relieved.

Well, that's the update for now. Not sure if I'll update again before I start back. We'll see.

Term Break Officially Begins Today

I feel like a real college student going on Spring Break.

I am officially on a term break until May 1st. I plan to keep studying on my own but I need this time off for so many reasons.

I may update if something comes up but for now, I'll talk to you in May!

Term Break

I am so burned out on school right now.

Which is both good and bad. It means I'm not getting much of anything done. It also means I'm going to have to pay for my schooling next term.

In order to pay for my schooling, I am going to have to save up a bit of money though so I'm taking a short term break.

That said, I'm planning to keep reading my Network + book as well as my Security + book.

And I'll be working on CodeAcademy. So all is not lost, I just need a short break and will get back to it in May.

I may update this between now and then but I may leave this blog alone until I go back to school. We'll see what happens.

21 Days left in Term

3 weeks left and am I ready to take my Network+ certification? Of course not.

I have a meeting with  my course mentor next Tuesday. Here's hoping I can be ready by then. Or nearly ready.

Yeah I better go read and do some lab work.

Looking Forward

This term is going to end in 27 days. I'm hoping to get networks done before the end of the month, I really don't want to have to carry it through to another term.

That will leave another database class, and a security class. Then I'll be working on languages, which I'm really excited about.

I'll be working on Python, Java, Perl, and I think I still have a JavaScript class. I'll also have a major paper and project due as part of my last class.

I'd really hoped to have more classes done this term but life has been so chaotic. And I'm having so much trouble staying focused these days. And now I'm starting to get sick again. Back to the doctor for me! Hopefully, I'll be better soon and can get some work done!

Gonna get a degree if it kills me!
